Savoyard hospitality pioneer family in Courchevel

History

Le  Lana opened its doors in 1958. Chamonix-born, Jo Tournier, believed in Courchevel and contributed to the awareness of the station by creating 20 rooms: a “small top-notch hotel” offering unique services for that time.

The property then became the first 4 star hotel in Courchevel. Jo Tournier and his wife Catherine permanently ugraded, enlarged, embellished their property and hence attracted an international clientele interested in a certain art de vivre. This progressively turned Courchevel into the most beautiful and trendiest resort in the Alps. The art of welcoming became the mission for an entire family.

When the patriarch disappeared, his two sons took over the family business. Eric, the older son is heading the  Tournier group and manages several properties in Courchevel and Saint-Tropez.  Nicolas, the younger one, took over the management of the Lana in 1993.

The original chalet has today 55 rooms, 28 suites and 2 apartments.

The vaults of the ceiling supported by ornated columns host large sofas in which the guest easily forgets the trials of the day.

For foodies, the restaurants Le Saint-Nicolas and La Table du Lana combine the pleasure for the eyes and the palate to enjoy meals full of flavours. And at the pistes, as soon as the weather is fine, gourmets will enjoy food at the terrace of La Table du Lana.
